Type an amount, pick a coin and a currency, and this pulls a live price from CoinGecko so you are working from today's number instead of one you half-remember from last week.

Rates are market averages from CoinGecko's public API, cached for up to 15 minutes on your device — they are close estimates, not the exact quote you would see on a specific exchange order book.

Why the number moves between refreshes

Crypto prices move continuously, so a rate fetched a few minutes ago is already slightly stale by the time you read it. That is normal and expected for any converter, not a sign something is broken — for anything more than a quick sense-check, the price on your exchange's own trade screen at the moment of the trade is what actually applies.

Why USDT is the default starting coin

Most people using this page have just sold or are about to buy USDT through P2P, so it is set as the default rather than BTC or ETH. Switch the coin dropdown at any time — the underlying fetch already has all four cached, so there is no extra wait.

What happens if the live fetch fails

Public APIs occasionally rate-limit or time out, especially on slower mobile connections. Rather than falling back to a made-up number, the tool tells you plainly that the live rate is unavailable and gives you a one-tap way to retry, once your connection settles.

Currency conversion, the short answers

Where does the price come from?
CoinGecko's public price API, the same aggregated market data source many portfolio trackers rely on. It is not Binance's own order book, so treat it as a close estimate rather than an exact fill price.
Why is the rate cached for 15 minutes?
So the page does not hammer a free public API on every keystroke. Prices are refetched automatically once the cache expires, or immediately if you use the refresh link.
Why show PKR, BDT, KES and INR as codes instead of symbols?
Currency symbols for these four are inconsistent across devices and fonts, so the plain ISO code avoids any ambiguity about which rupee, taka or shilling is meant.
